The Duleep Trophy 2026 final was East Zone vs South Zone. The two sides met at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and the game began with the East Zone coming in to bat first after winning the toss. The side got off to a good start with Abhimanyu Easwaran scoring 72 and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi getting 44.
However, the performance of captain Ishan Kishan was exceptional. Ishan Kishan walked out to bat and produced a performance of his life and went on to get his name in the double century. Kishan made his 200 in 270 balls. East Zone piled on the runs in the first innings, crossing the score of 550 runs.
Kishan scored his double century and became the third player in the history of East Zone to score a 200. Arun Lal did it twice in 1986-87 while Saba Karim was unbeaten on 200 in 1995-96.
