Jay Bhanushali cheered for his ex-wife, Mahhi Vij, after she decided to participate in Bigg Boss 20, after years of rejecting the controversial reality show. For the unversed, Mahhi and Jay got married in 2011. They announced their separation in January 2026.

Salman Khan welcomed Mahhi Vij on the Bigg Boss 20 stage and said the makers were trying to get her on the show for years. He also recalled that her name was being discussed as a possible contestant ever since he started hosting Bigg Boss.
When Salman asked Mahhi why she had been refusing the offer, she said it just never seemed to be the right time. In fact, she confessed that she had decided against doing Bigg Boss 20 just last month. She had always loved watching the show, but this time she felt ready to take part.
Mahhi also revealed that her adopted children Khushi and Rajveer and biological daughter Tara inspired her to take up the show. Mahhi entered the Bigg Boss house after hugging her mother one last time, while Tara was in the audience and came up on stage.

Mahhi and Jay Bhanushali announced their separation months ago. Now the actress is entering Bigg Boss. The couple announced on Instagram in January 2026 that they had decided to go their separate ways but would continue to support each other.
Today, we decide to go our separate ways on a journey called life. But we still have each other’s back. Peace, growth, kindness and humanity have always been our guiding values. For our children’s sake - Tara, Khushi and Rajveer - we vow to be the best parents, the best friends and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them (sic).”
It was without any bitterness that they took their decision. “There is no downside to this decision and there is no bad guy in this story, we are simply on different journeys. Before you jump to any conclusions just know that we choose peace over drama and sanity above all else (sic).
The couple asked for people to respect their decision and give them privacy going forward. We still respect each other, we still support each other and we are still friends as we always have been.
