Tel Aviv:Fresh American “moves in the Gulf” were briefed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by US President Donald Trump on Thursday (local time) after two days of recent US strikes in Iran. An additional conversation was held between the two leaders on Thursday evening, according to a post shared on X by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, during which continued coordination between both countries across various sectors was established.
President Trump briefs Netanyahu on U.S. action in the Gulff. The statement from the Israeli PMO read, “For his part, the Prime Minister raised the severity of the statements made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his people against the existence of the State of Israel, as well as the need for security zones along Israel’s borders.”
Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Thursday it struck the US Al-Azraq air base in northern Jordan with 10 ballistic missiles, describing it as a "enemy command and control centre in West Asia", in retaliation strikes after a recent attack on Tehran by Washington.
IRGC says missile strikes are “second phase” of response to USThe Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the missile strikes marked the “second phase” of its response to what it called aggression by the United States, according to a statement carried by Iran’s state broadcaster, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).
“The IRGC aerospace fighters destroyed the enemy’s command and control centre in West Asia and the enemy air base in Al-Azraq, Jordan with 10 ballistic missiles at 2:20 pm today,” it said.
IRGC warns of more strikes if US takes further military actionAny further US military action would result in further attacks on US bases in the region, the IRGC warned. "Should the US terrorist army repeat its aggression, other US bases in the region will not be safe from our heavy fire," the statement carried by IRIB added. The statement added that Iran had said previously that a series of attacks would mean a broadening of its military response.
Meanwhile, Jordan said air raid sirens sounded after missiles entered the country’s airspace from Iran. "Moments ago, the Public Security Directorate activated air raid sirens after reports of missiles launched from Iran that entered the Kingdom's airspace and were intercepted and dealt with," government spokesman Mohammad Al-Momani said in a post on X.
“The brave Jordanian Armed Forces are on high alert to face any threat facing the Kingdom and are using all their efforts to protect the country’s security and the safety of its citizens,” he added.

Earlier today, the IRGC issued a statement describing the retaliation, according to Press TV, which said the targeted outposts included Arifjan and Ali Al Salem in Kuwait and Juffair and Sheikh Isa in Bahrain, and that the facilities were targeted with missiles and drones.
The IRGC condemned the US attacks calling them a "violation of commitments” and vowed to fight against the “child-killing US military.The Iranian move follows an announcement by US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Wednesday that its forces have begun conducting more strikes against Iran in an effort to further degrade Tehran's ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, after recent attacks on commercial shipping and civilian crews.
