New Delhi:Shooting of Shri Rambhoomi is on in Ayodhya and Anupam Kher has finally revealed to fans about the character he will be seen playing in the film. The veteran actor shared his first look on social media and confirmed that he will be essaying the character of Ashok Singhal. Kher said it was one of the most meaningful roles of his career, and a responsibility he treasured deeply to portray the late leader with honesty and sensitivity.

Anupam Kher posted several photos from the sets of Shri Rambhoomi on Instagram. In the pictures he is seen wearing a white kurta-pyjama and a traditional angochha hanging around his neck. He is also wearing spectacles and a red and white tilak on his forehead to complete the look.

Sharing the photos, Anupam revealed that he is playing Ashok Singhal in Shri Rambhoomi. “When images of my look started circulating on social media, it was a good time to share the details of my character with my fans,” he said.

In his post, Anupam wrote that Ashok Singhal was a dedicated leader who gave direction to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement and was a devoted follower of Lord Ram throughout his life. "Playing such an important historical figure with authenticity and sensitivity was a huge responsibility," the actor said. He further added that he would give his heart and soul to the role and sought his fans’ blessings and good wishes as he begins the journey.
