New Delhi:In the midst of his divorce case with his wife, Arti Ravi, Tamil actor Ravi Mohan has taken back his earlier decision. Ravi Mohan has been in the news of late for his personal life and his decision to quit acting till his divorce is finalised.
The Ponniyin Selvan actor confirmed his return to cinema in a recent award function. He also apologised to his fans for hurting them, saying he knew how his previous decision had hurt people.
Ravi Mohan withdraws decision to quit acting
At the JFW Achievers Awards ceremony, he apologised to his fans, saying he realised that his previous decision has hurt people. "I am sorry for hurting my fans.I’m turning 46 this year. Twenty-three divided by two. Half my life in the cinema. Sorry I made a little mistake that hurt you all so bad. For me personal life and professional life are 50-50, but emotions in personal life were a bit more.
The actor also talked about how sometimes you can be overwhelmed by powerful emotions. "I got carried away on my emotions when I made that earlier statement," he said. He also said that people in the movie industry had contacted him and told him not to give up his acting career and that this support was a big factor in his decision to come back.
"I was a little emotional, but everybody in the industry came up to me and said, 'We'll accept anything you say,' " he said. But you must never say you are not part of cinema again.” I apologise to all of them. I also won’t betray my fans anymore. I will be back for sure. Your happiness, your kindness, your generosity… I will be back as Ponniyin Selvan or Karathey Babu.”
"I bow my head in gratitude to all those who gave me this confidence. The actor also thanked his fans for supporting him during the tough phase.
When Ravi Mohan announced his acting break
“Many people think I am a sadhu and can be abused,” Ravi Mohan told reporters at a press conference in May. It’s stupid not to have said for so long. I won't do anything until I get a divorce. For twenty-three years I have worked hard. 90% of my films were successful. My father and my brother didn’t work for 4 years. When I was a kid I worked for my family. I am here for my family. I did not let my kids see me.
“I have lived in my past life for 14 years. He further said, Do you know what feminism means? I talk about women’s rights in my films. Do I talk bad of women? My mother didn’t raise me that way. How could I leave my children? They were my life. But now I am not allowed to meet my children. They even send me to school with guardians. "I bolted from that life."
Ravi Mohan's upcoming work front
Work-wise, Ravi Mohan has several films in the pipeline including the action film ‘Karathey Babu’ hitting screens on August 28, 2026. He also has a film in the offing called Benz by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Coolie director Lokesh Kanagaraj shared this through his X handle. He shared a few pictures from the sets and captioned it, “Welcome to the universe @iam_RaviMohan sir.
