Rajpal Yadav says prisoners should be given a second chance
Speaking on his experience inside Tihar Jail, he told IndiaTV in an exclusive interview that many inmates should be given another chance in life. He also asked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to look into reforms for deserving prisoners. "I would like to request Delhi CM Rekha Gupta to take some action against some of the people there, as one mistake can be overlooked. But I have the utmost respect for the judiciary and their judgment at the same time. But if we could do something for some of them. Then it would be good.
'The food in Tihar jail is good'
Rajpal was asked more about his day-to-day life in Tihar Jail. He didn't get into specifics, but he said the administration of the prison has a long history and deserves praise. The actor said he had no complaints about the food served there.
Why is Rajpal Yadav's cheque-bounce case?
The case is related to the alleged non-payment of dues for Rajpal Yadav’s 2012 directorial venture ‘Ata Pata Laapata’. The film bombed, and the loan supposedly taken out to make it kept accumulating interest over the years.
Rajpal had spoken of the emotional and financial toll of the long legal battle before surrendering to the Tihar Jail authorities. Sir, what do I do? Mere paas paisa nahi hai. No other remedy is in sight. Sir, we are all here alone. No friends. I have to deal with this crisis alone." (Sir, what can I do? I haven't got the money. I see no other way. Sir, we be all alone here.)
Sonu Sood, Salman Khan and others are reported to have extended financial help to the actor after his arrest.
