Film body seeks government probe into Rajesh Sharma’s health
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta appealed to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to order a high-level probe into the incident. The association asked questions about the circumstances of Sharma’s medical emergency. It said, “The incident raises many critical questions. If Mr Rajesh Sharma's condition had deteriorated so much during the shoot, then why wasn't he immediately taken to one of Hyderabad's top hospitals by the producer and production house? Was there adequate medical emergency care on the set? Were all necessary health and workplace safety protocols being followed? What was going on at the shooting that made his health go so bad?"
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has appealed to the Honourable Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri Revanth Reddy for an immediate high level probe into the incident at the Fauji shooting set at Ramoji Film City. Actor Rajesh Sharma's medical emergency, whether all workplace safety, hygiene and emergency medical protocols were followed and any negligence on the part of the producer, production house or any other responsible authority, the probe should find out the exact cause of the actor," the post read.
In case of any lapse or negligence during the investigation strict legal action shall be taken against all responsible persons. “No person or production house, regardless of the size or budget of the film, should be above accountability,” it said.
The association also urged the makers of the film to take responsibility for Sharma’s treatment. "AICWA demands the producer and production house to bear the full cost of Mr. Rajesh Sharma's medical treatment and also to ensure that he gets the best possible medical treatment till he fully recovers," the statement said.
