Mehbooba Mufti: "J-K was a laboratory for the BJP, will undertake Kashmirization of the entire country."

Mehbooba Mufti, the head of the PDP, stated on Saturday, June 24, that Jammu and Kashmir, which she had previously ruled before it was divided into two Union Territories, was a "laboratory" for the BJP. Yesterday, more than fifteen opposition parties gathered in Patna at a single stage to plan how to remove the BJP from power at the Center.

Mufti claimed that three former chief ministers were "put in jail" after Jammu and Kashmir's Article 370 was revoked in August 2019 and threatened to "Kashmirize" the entire nation if the BJP won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The concept of India is, in fact, being attacked. A day after the big gathering at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's home on Friday, Mufti told reporters, "It was most evident when they abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and put its leaders, including three former chief ministers, in jail."

"J-K was a lab. The central ordinance that governs Delhi today began much earlier in our state. Sadly, not many people were aware of it at the time. Mufti, who served as chief minister of the government formed with the BJP's support prior to the party's decision to leave the alliance in June 2018, stated that the BJP would violate the Constitution and undertake Kashmirization of the entire nation if it were to retake power in 2024.

Mufti responded that it was "never the central issue of the meeting" when questioned about the Aam Aadmi Party's claim that Congress "refused" to oppose the Center's ordinance on the Delhi government's services.

Naturally, Kejriwal brought up the ordinance issue, but we were all preoccupied with the concept of India and the attacks on the Constitution. Naturally, as a national party, Congress has its own method of voicing its views on delicate subjects following careful consideration. It's not a problem for anyone," she remarked.

The PDP chief stated that different opposition parties did not "realise the implications" of their actions after being reminded of the AAP's support for the Bill that terminated Jammu and Kashmir's special status in 2019.

It is true that many opposition parties to the BJP at the time were unaware of the ramifications of what was happening. However, I didn't come with resentment," she remarked.

The Supreme Court has consistently ruled that Article 370 cannot be repealed unless the Jammu and Kashmir Constituent Assembly recommends doing so. However, everything was destroyed by the BJP, the former chief minister continued.

When asked if the topic of the opposition's prime ministerial face was covered at yesterday's meeting, Mufti responded that it wasn't necessary.

"Where is the necessity? In the most recent Lok Sabha elections, the parties present at the meeting collectively received over 60% of the vote, she stated.

At this Patna home, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called a meeting with the leaders of more than fifteen political parties. Leading opposition figures attended the gathering, which sought to unite all parties with similar views on a common platform.

Leaders who attended the meeting included Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Arvind Kejriwal, MK Stalin, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, and Hemant Soren. The next opposition meeting is scheduled for July 10–12 in Shimla.
