New DelhiSince the release of Dhurandhar in theaters on December 5, Bollywood, which has been leading YRF's spy universe from one end, has been targeted by selective trolls. The actors and directors of spy universe films were criticized for selecting ostentatious plots and expensive settings over genuine narrative and convincing writing.
On December 10, Hrithik, who has a close relationship with both director Aditya Dhar's wife, Yami Gautam, and Dhurandhar's lead actor, Ranveer Singh, reviewed the spy thriller on his Instagram stories.
Review of Dhurandhar by Hrithik Roshan
Dhurandhar's performances and storytelling were commended by Hrithik Roshan. "I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen," he wrote on his Instagram story. One example of that is DHURANDAR. I adored the narrative. It's a movie.
The actor went on to express his disapproval of the movie's impact on viewers, writing, "I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world." However, as a film student, I can't deny how much I enjoyed and learned from this one. Fantastic.
Concerning the film
The film tells the tale of an undercover spy who attempts to dismantle criminal organizations and gangs in Karachi, Pakistan's Lyari neighborhood. Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and the current sensation Akshaye Khanna all have important roles in Aditya Dhar's film, which is directed by Ranveer Singh.
The film, which debuted on December 5, 2025, has already made over Rs 150 crore at the box office worldwide and is on track to surpass Rs 500 crore in the near future.
Additionally, a sequel to the two-part story will be released next year. Indeed! You read correctly—Dhurandhar 2 will hit theaters on March 19 and compete with Yash Toxic.
