New Dehli:Then Manoj Bajpayee can be seen as Governor. The actor responded to the controversy surrounding him after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against him for his reported exit from Don 3 during the trailer launch of the film.
What did Manoj Bajpayee say on FWICE’s ban on Ranveer Singh?
Speaking at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Governor in Mumbai on Tuesday, May 26, Manoj said he hopes the matter gets resolved soon and peacefully. Manoj addressing the issue said, “The place is very wrong. I have to tell you one thing that all the people who are in this industry only read about it on social media, and we don’t have detailed information. But as colleagues or as fellow fraternity members all we can say is that we hope that the matter is sorted out soon.”
The actor also said that he has never worked with Ranveer Singh but hopes the matter gets resolved amicably and doesn’t become bigger than it is.
What is the controversy of Ranveer Singh?
The controversy started when FWICE issued a Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD), a ban, against Ranveer Singh for allegedly pulling out of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 at the last minute. The federation took “serious cognizance” of a complaint forwarded by the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), ANI reported quoting an official statement.
It is alleged that filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has filed a complaint on April 11, 2026. Following this, FWICE held meetings with all parties involved, including Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani. According to the reports, the makers told the federation that almost Rs 45 crore had already been spent on the film’s pre-production before Ranveer’s alleged exit from the project during the discussions.

Reacting to the matter, Ranveer Singh's official spokesperson shared: "Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. He has consciously decided to maintain silence in the wake of recent happenings around Don 3 and feels professional conversations and personal equations are best dealt with dignity, maturity and mutual respect. There have been many stories and guesses doing the rounds over the years but Ranveer has never felt the need to respond publicly or add fuel to the speculation. He is busy with his work and his future engagements. He continues to have great respect and goodwill for all involved and wishes the franchise continued success. In moments like these on his he has always consciously chosen restraint and grace.In all the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has chosen to remain silent, feeling that professional discussions and personal equations are best dealt with dignity, maturity and mutual respect. There have been a lot of stories and speculations over the years but Ranveer never felt the need to respond or add to the speculation in public.
Ranveer Singh was last seen in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar film. He hasn’t announced what’s next. Meanwhile, the film is set to release on June 12 for Manoj Bajpayee’s Governor.
