New Delhi:Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has said that there may be progress in the ongoing conflict with Iran. However, he also warned that the current ceasefire could end soon if the talks that are coming up fail. Trump told reporters on Air Force One that there had been "some good news," but he didn't go into detail.
He said, "We got some pretty good news 20 minutes ago, but it looks like things are going very well in the Middle East with Iran." "You'll hear about it... I just think it should happen."
Uncertainty about ceasefire extensionTrump made it clear that the two-week ceasefire will only last if the second round of talks with Tehran goes well. He said that the pause in fighting might not last longer if a long-term deal isn't reached by Wednesday.
The blockade will stay in place for now.Even though Iran reopened the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said the US naval blockade in the area would stay in place for now. He did say, though, that this could change depending on how things go. Trump said that if talks fail, the military might have to act again.
He said, "So you have a blockade, and sadly, we have to start dropping bombs again."
Trump also talked about Iran's decision to reopen the Strait of Hormuz while speaking to a crowd at the Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Arizona. He said that the blockade on Iranian ships and ports will stay in place for now.
"We built the naval blockade with the biggest navy and the best military in the world." The 79-year-old Republican leader said, "We built it during my first term... We'll stay in full force and effect as it pertains to Iran until our transaction with Iran is 100 percent complete and fully signed."
The US president also repeated his claim that Iran has agreed to give up its enriched uranium and that the US will use excavators to remove it from Tehran's nuclear sites as part of any peace deal. It should be noted that Iran's Foreign Ministry has said that the country's enriched uranium will not be sent anywhere.
"Someone asked, "How are we going to get the nuclear dust?" Trump said, "We're going to get it by going into Iran with a lot of excavators." "We need the biggest diggers you can think of. But we're going to work with Iran to get there. We're going to get it. We're going to bring it back to the US very soon.
The US helped make a deal in Lebanon.Trump also said that it was the Americans who helped make peace in Lebanon and stopped Israel from bombing the country in the Middle East. Iran asked for a ceasefire in Lebanon during recent talks with the US in Islamabad. Iran has been pushing for a ceasefire and asking Israel to stop all hostilities there.
"Yesterday, we did what everyone said was impossible: we got Israel and Lebanon to agree to a ceasefire that had never happened before. It hasn't happened in 78 years. The president said, "Our deal with Iran has nothing to do with Lebanon, but we will make Lebanon great again."
