New Delhi:In a low-scoring thriller at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, the Delhi Capitals survived a major scare against the Lucknow Super Giants. They were in trouble early in the second innings but were able to chase down 142. Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs put together a 119-run partnership to help the Capitals win by six wickets in Lucknow on Wednesday, April 1. They were in big trouble at 26/4.
When Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan scored early on, LSG were ahead of the Capitals. Shami started off well with the ball when he took a wicket on his first ball for LSG, getting a golden duck. Next, Mohsin got rid of the struggling Nitish Rana. Then Prince got two in a row, first getting Pathum Nissanka out behind the stumps and then cleaning up Axar Patel.
But Rizvi and Stubbs were strong. First, they rebuilt the Capitals' things with their careful batting, and then they scored a lot of runs. Rizvi, who was 2 for 10 balls, finished with 70 runs off 47 balls. Stubbs was also good, scoring 39 runs off 32 balls. The two brought the team home in 17.1 overs, which also raised their Net run rate.
