A bad first show
Ranbir Kapoor was born in Mumbai on September 28, 1982. Rishi Kapoor, his father, and Neetu Kapoor, his mother, were both well-known actors. He went to the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York to get better at acting. Before he became an actor, Ranbir worked as an assistant director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie Black. His first movie as an actor was Saawariya, which was also directed by SLB.
The movie came out in 2007 and starred Ranbir in the main role. The movie went up against Om Shanti Om and failed at the box office. Still, Ranbir won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his role in the movie. People who saw him act and critics both liked it a lot.
In 2008, he was in Bachna Ae Haseeno. The movie, which cost almost Rs 30 crores to make, made Rs 36 crores at the box office but couldn't give Ranbir his first big hit.
The first win
After Saawariya, Ranbir acted in three movies in 2009: Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year. People really liked his acting in these movies, but Rocket Singh didn't do well at the box office.
Ranbir then starred in the movie Raajneeti in 2010. Ranbir played an ambitious politician in this movie. The movie was a big hit, and it also made people take Ranbir seriously as an actor, even though there were a lot of other big-name stars in it. Rajneeti cost Rs 45 crores to make and made Rs 145 crores at the box office. Ranbir did have a flop that year, though, with Anjana Anjani.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which came out in 2013, was a huge hit and made Ranbir a youth icon.
Ranbir had some box office hits, but he also had some flops, like Besharam (2013), Roy (2015), Bombay Velvet (2015), and Tamasha (2015).
But the actor came back strong with the 2016 hit movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He then made another flop, Jagga Jasoos, but he came back with the hit movie Sanju.
After the failure of Shamera (2022), Ranbir came back with the hit movie Brahmastra (2022) and then broke his own records with Animal (2023). For those who don't know, Animal was his most successful movie to date, and he won his fourth Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
