Delhi, New Delhi:Vishal Bharadwaj, who took over as director again after Khufiya in 2023, posted a lengthy Instagram post ahead of O'Romeo's release. The filmmaker shared his thoughts on O'Romeo and expressed gratitude to his HOD, producers, and associates. Given that his action drama will be in theaters in a few hours, Vishal's post, which shares personal thoughts, seems to be straight from the heart.
Thank you, Vishal Bharadwaj The O'Romeo team
Vishal thanked his team on the first slide. "I feel compelled to share how deeply proud I am of this film before the critics speak and before the box office renders its verdict." Before the praise and criticism come, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of my HODs for giving more than was ever asked of them: their vision, their integrity, their blood, sweat, and unwavering dedication to my vision," Vishal Bharadwaj wrote.
"My real heroes are Mustafa Stationwala, Faramarz Wankadia, Ben Bernhard, Meghdeep Bose, Aarif Sheikh, Maxima Basu, Dani Del Rosario, Vikram Dahiya, Ankur Chaudhary, Yash Darji, Shantanu Yennemadi, Krutika Jain, Mukesh Chhabra, Makarand Surte, Justin Jose, Samir Zaidi, Konstantin Minnich, Saurabh Goswami, and "Anl" Arasu, the filmmaker added. Additionally, my creative producer, Priti Shahani, and my most affectionate colleague, Abhay Datt Sharma, who shared my love, pain, frustration, and both reasonable and unreasonable whims. I won't produce another movie without her.
My love and violence are reflected in O'Romeo: Vishal Bharadwaj
"Through this film, I have realized the immense capacity for violence and love—together," Vishal said, delving deeply into his relationship with O'Romeo. Revenge is a recurrent theme in my body of work that I was unaware of. And I'm only now, at sixty, starting to get it. I frequently feel helpless to stop the violence, injustice, and hatred that permeate our society. It hurts me a lot. This bottled-up pain had to be let out. The composer, director, and producer wrote, "In O'Romeo, I slash throats, split skulls, and blow the brains of the monsters I cannot confront in real life through my protagonist."
The note went on to say, "Love is an equally powerful force that stands in opposition to this violence." A love that grew out of my life's experiences with lovely, sensitive people who have influenced me. A love that saved me from drowning. A love that dragged me away from the bloody puddle. I adore this species known as humans, who are constantly caught between two strong emotions. These polarities are embodied in O'Romeo."
Reflecting on the emotional extremes that influenced O'Romeo, Vishal Bhardwaj
"It is as massy as I can be," the filmmaker wrote as he concluded his post. It's as creative as I can get. It's as aggressive as I can get. It's as poetic as I can make it. It's as affectionate as I can be. It is as vindictive as I am. Regardless of the result, these emotions must be expressed because this journey has ended on such a lovely note. "Subah hui, aankhein kholein, kapde badlein, pheete baandhein," as Dr. Basheer Badr states. "Jo sheher ab aane waala hai, uss sheher ke baare mein sochein."
