New DelhiOn February 17, French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in Mumbai. Macron's three-day official visit to India has a formal yet friendly tone. On Monday evening, he and First Lady Brigitte Macron arrived in Mumbai. Acharya Devvrat, the governor of Maharashtra, and the chief minister met them at the airport. Following their official meeting, Macron had meetings with a number of Bollywood celebrities.

Macron met Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he arrived. After giving each other a hearty embrace, the two leaders sat down to discuss artificial intelligence and more general strategic cooperation. This time, defense ties were also discussed. There is discussion about reviving partnerships, such as the potential joint production of HAMMER precision-guided missiles and helicopters.
