“These militant hideouts have been totally decimated by India. The same terrorist hideouts were mentioned in the Defense Ministry report. The Indian Armed Forces reportedly razed these militant hideouts to the ground in Operation Sindoor. The return of these bases is a sign of the continued effort to rebuild the terrorist structure in Pakistan.
Former Army chief General M M Naravane last month had said that Operation Sindoor marked a ‘very significant shift’ in India’s approach toward Pakistan as the strikes targeted not only terrorist hideouts near the border but also their supporters deep inside the neighboring country.
“This is what General MM Naravane said on Operation SindoorHe also said the operation Sindoor carried out last year after the terror attack in Pahalgam showed that those who support terrorists cannot escape from the Indian action wherever they are.
“Earlier, our military response was largely aimed at terrorist hideouts near the border,” he said and referred to earlier terror attacks including in Uri and Pulwama. When such attacks used to happen earlier, like after Uri and after Pulwama the Balakot strikes, we used to target mostly the terrorist hideouts near the border, he said.
Such things happen and I do not have full information about the reported operation," General Naravane (retd) was referring to reports that Pakistan had increased its activity in Sir Creek sector and was undertaking "Operation Ababil".
Speaking on India-China relations, General Naravane (retd) said the recent discussions between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi should be viewed in the backdrop of the decades-old boundary dispute between the two nations. He also said that the meeting was the 25th round of Special Representative level talks and was not taking place for the first time. The main thing to remember, he said, is that there is a border dispute between India and China.
