QuettaAfter seven explosions in the province of Balochistan in a single day, panic broke out throughout Pakistan. Officials said on Sunday that two security guards of a construction company were hurt in the explosions, which occurred in Quetta and Dera Murad Jamali, but no one was killed.
Officials claim that the first explosion happened in Quetta when some rebels threw grenades at a police checkpoint. The second explosion was an improvised explosive device (IED) detonation that only occurred in Quetta close to an ATD vehicle.
In the evening, three more explosions were heard in the capital of Balochistan. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Asif Khan stated that the main line that connects Quetta to other parts of Pakistan was damaged by an explosion that occurred close to Lohr Karez, which is outside of Quetta.
Khan added that railway traffic in the area was suspended after some insurgents detonated an explosive device on a railroad track close to the Quetta station. After some rebels threw grenades in Dera Murad Jamali, a police car was also attacked.
Additionally, two security guards were hurt when the rebels threw hand grenades at a construction company site on Quetta's Sariab Road. On Sunday, they carried on their assaults, throwing grenades at Quetta's Manzoor Shaheed police station. Additionally, they used grenades to attack another police station in Quetta's Kech Beg neighborhood.
According to Pakistani officials, the attacks have caused fear in Balochistan, but no group has yet to claim responsibility.
In Balochistan, insurgents have frequently attacked the Pakistani establishment. The province's mobile internet services were suspended earlier this month by the Pakistani government, with the exception of Quetta, the capital. Additionally, it halted traffic on the National Highway N-70's Loralai segment.
The suspension was later lifted, though.
