Afghanistan hosts India in a three-match T20I series, starting September 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The series marks the return of Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, owing to injury. BCCI's CoE recently cleared him for the series, which will help him get into the zone for the upcoming Asian Games.
Meanwhile, there is no dearth of speculations about the opening pair. Abhishek Sharma will be the captain for the proceedings but the door has been kept open for both Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Sanju Samson. Both players bring different things on the table and so, it will be only during toss when there is clarity on the opening pair, said Captain Shreyas Iyer.
Afghanistan, however, will seek to negotiate the spin wizardry. The players to look out for are Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman. However, given the flat nature of the pitch, it is possible they will depend heavily on their pace unit. But the flip side is that the batting side has a lot of responsibility as well. Rahmatullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran and Gulbadin Naib will be key players for the side.
