New Delhi:Following his eviction from Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, contestant Yogesh Rawat opened up about a decision he believes changed the course of his journey on the reality show. Speaking to actor Tejasswi Prakash in a post-eviction interview for Netflix, the former Splitsvilla 16 contestant admitted that one choice during a crucial task is something he now regrets, adding that it may have set off the chain of events that eventually led to his exit from Lock Upp season 2.
Yogesh Rawat Reflects on the Decision that Changed His Path
Tejasswi in the interview mentioned about Yogesh’s position change in the game drastically. Just the week previous, and was a generally considered a fan favourite.
Yogesh, in response to her observation, said that if he had to point out where things started going wrong, he would blame one of his own decisions rather than anyone else. 'Galti toh I guess main shayad se khud ke us decision ki hi bolunga.' (loosely translated: 'I think the mistake was probably my own decision.')
Yogesh acknowledged that an important decision at a critical Controller-Dependent task could have altered the course of his journey. In hindsight, he said, he had a clearer understanding of how that moment affected the game.
Why does the controller-dependent task stand out?
Yogesh’s referred decision was in the Controller Dependent task where Yogesh was paired with Madhuri Jain Grover. The contestants had to choose who would be the Controller and who would be the Dependent. The task was to be completed by the Controller, and the role was important.
Yogesh decided to be the Dependent instead of the Controller, and Madhuri was the Controller. But in hindsight, he believes that decision worked against him.
Yogesh said the task did not go as he had planned and the team’s performance suffered for it. He fell short of finger-pointing but said he might have done things differently if he had been in charge.
What was the turning point?
Yogesh said, 'If my decision had gone some other way at that time, I feel I wouldn't even have got a red card till now. (Loosely translated: 'If I had made a different decision at that point, I don't think I would have even been in a situation where I was getting the red band.')
His words suggest that he sees the Controller Dependent task as a turning point in his Lock Upp journey. For a contestant who was widely seen as one of the strongest players in the house, it’s a decision he’s still mulling over now that his time on the show has come to an end.
Lock Upp season 2 will be streamed on Netflix from Saturday to Thursday at 8 pm.
